Recently, a domestically developed 170-ton long arm excavator was delivered in Hunan. This machine, fitted with an excavator extension arm, will be shipped to the Middle East for large-scale land reclamation projects, setting a new national record for arm length among similar products.

The excavator extension arm features a combined structure of a 10.8 m boom plus a 7.7 m reinforced arm. It delivers a max excavation height of 17.2 m, max digging depth of 13.3 m and max working radius of 20.5 m. Matched with a 4-cubic-meter heavy-duty bucket, it maintains stable excavation capacity even with the extended arm. The R&D team specially optimized the structure to solve common pain points of long-arm operation including structural deformation and hydraulic instability. Adopting a dual-power system balancing high power and fuel efficiency, its four-main-pump hydraulic system enables smooth and precise movement of the excavator extension arm.

This extended arm equipment adapts well to complex working scenarios: port expansion, high slope remediation, deep foundation excavation and river dredging. Conventional excavators suffer from limited working radius, frequent relocation and poor construction efficiency. In contrast, this extended arm realizes remote on-site construction without frequent machine moves, cutting equipment displacement and lowering site access requirements.

This export delivery proves the technological maturity of domestic ultra-large-tonnage long-arm machinery. Construction machinery manufacturers will keep developing customized extended arm products. We will launch multi-specification models to meet engineering demands from various countries, further exploring overseas infrastructure markets and offering high-efficiency equipment solutions for global earthwork, water conservancy and coastal projects.
